Blockage in the Cam Brook Downstream of the A367 Bridge in Dunkerton
Reported via desktop in the Flooding of a road or pavement category anonymously at 09:44, Tue 28 September 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3029190.
I emailed Jim McEwan who has been my previous POC on flooding issues in Dunkerton, particularly at the old bridge by the Church where flooding is historical and notoriously bad. However the email was returned Undeliverable so Jim may have moved on, hence recourse to this report. I emailed:
A parishioner has reported that trees have slipped into the Cam Brook just downstream of the A367 bridge at Dunkerton. There is an increasing amount of debris building up against the fallen tree(s) to restrict the flow. They are worried that the new obstruction(s) might be sufficiently severe to cause and compound the known flooding problems back as far as our infamous Church Lane bridge.
I doubt that would be the case, but I wonder if one of the team might pop down and have a look to confirm that for us (as far as they might be able to tell)? I can then reassure our worried resident(s.) In passing it would be helpful to have some comments on who might be responsible for remedial action? Presumably the riparian landowner(s) who has/have lost the trees into the Brook.

Yet again drain so blocked you cannot see the drain (completely covered) Until someone comes and does road edge (Weeds grown along the lane kerb) cleaning then will keep blocking.
