Cars parking on the corner of Lays Drive, Keynsham

When the road was resurfaced at the bottom the white lines stopping people parking were not put back in. This now means that people park on the corner but not just that on the pavement as well making it dangerous for pedestrians and any one turning into the road. It also means that at the junction it is one way traffic causing tail backs onto the main road from both directions .

    People are still parking on the corner despite lines being painted. And I've been told it won't change unless double yellow lines are put there. To do this I've been told I have to email my council which I have but I have not even had an acknowledgement that they have received my email and are looking into it.

    I have had almost 2 head-on collisions last week where cars are parked on the corner of Lays Drive on the lines which are painted on the corners. The main offenders live in the houses opposite on Charlton Road and the first house on the left of Lays Drive as you enter off Charlton Road. Vehicles swing into Lays Drive from Charlton Road cutting the corner so they don't see traffic coming down Lays Drive and then there is nowhere to pull in as cars/vans are parked on the lines and corners. It's an accident waiting to happen!!

  • This is getting absolutely out of hand now I nearly had my car wiped out this morning as there was an obstruction to look right.

    I think you need to consider double Yellow lines as these are proving challenging to police.
