At least two drains north of this point completely blocked
Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 16:34, Mon 18 October 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3070023.
These drains have been blocked for some time even before the last heavy rain fall, when the whole road becomes flooded as it is in a dip. The main problem is the amount of silt and gravel surrounding this area is not removed when the drain is cleared and so this sediment at the next rain fall re blocks the drains in question.

Due to these drains being blocked any heavy rain we have received in the last few weeks has caused this section of road to flood. This is the rout of the school coach and there are concerns of aquaplaning if two vehicles happen to meet in the flooded area, causing a collision if severe braking is required to avoid ahead on encounter.

The main problem now with this issue is that because the water around this drain is unable to run away and if it ices over because of the time of year we are in a dangerous situation

If it takes as long as 4 months to just unblock these drains, and the drainage tanker passes this point quite often, is there any point in reporting it in the first place?

We are still waiting. I simply can’t understand why as one of the councils tankers passes by these blocked drains several times a week . I personally do not see any point in reporting this any more to FixMy Street as no action is taken and we are constantly having the road flooded after heavy rain.

I can’t understand why it took so long for this particular problem to be addressed.
