In line cycle lane separator causing accident

Reported via mobile in the Dangerous road surface (including ice, mud, spillage or debris) category anonymously at 17:14, Friday 22 October 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3078931.

I was cycling along the London road at 9pm on Wednesday 20 October in heavy rain in the cycle lane. Approaching the roadworks I was compelled to manoeuvre to the main carriageway on the right. I looked behind to check traffic and put my arm out to indicate I was pulling out. Then hit the separator, and flew over the handlebars landing face down in the main carriageway. I was unable to move at first and a car stopped and helped me out. I got away with cuts and bruising and some damage to my bike. The separator is not noticeable at night in the rain particularly when manoeuvring. I survived but others might be put at serious risk to life
