Church Lane/ Crowe Lane give way lines.

Reported via mobile in the Faded road markings category anonymously at 16:29, Tue 26 October 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3086116.

New white lines painted to mark the give way in the wrong place at least 3 metres further into the middle of Church Lane forcing passing traffic on to my drive. Please return and put the lines in the right place or give me some protection for my drive.

  • This afternoon a vehicle travelling up Church Lane nearly hit my wife standing on OUR drive 2metres from the edge of the road. Because of the re-positioning of the white lines some drivers are treating our drive as part of the road in order to avoid oncoming and joining traffic.

  • This is STILL a very dangerous junction ever since the Give Way lines were moved after the resurfacing. At busy times cars are being forced on to my drive and many times they have to reverse in order to turn up Church Lane. If anybody actually watched the traffic during BUSY times they would see how dangerous it is. The lines need to be moved back where they were. The fact that there hasn’t been a serious accident yet is a matter of luck.

  • This junction is STILL dangerous. Several more near misses - one seen this morning. Having had the danger pointed out are we waiting for an accident? The lines have been painted in the WRONG place. When the inevitable collision occurs will action be taken then? Observation needs happen between 8am and 9am and 3pm to 5.30 pm. The rest of the time the traffic is light and relatively sedate!
