No sign to warn of nearby school
Reported via mobile in the Road sign damage category anonymously at 10:58, Tue 16 November 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3126441.
This road is used for children to walk to preschool and primary school, there is no pavement and the road is very busy at rush hour. The current speed limit is 30mph and there is no warning light of a nearby school and requirement to drive at 20 during this time. The speed limit is 20 all the time in other areas with pavements so as a minimum I feel it should be 20 at school drop off and pick up times.
Speed bumps or a giveaway on the blind corner 1/3 of the way up the high street would be a suggestion also, and a lowered pavement between the Cross and Middle street for easy crossing between the primary and preschool. A pedestrian crossing of some sort to the school along the cross would also be a suggestion (at the top of the high street).
Even some signs that warn of pedestrians walking in the road, or to even make it clear it is a high street would help
Some lighting/reflective signs around the crossing on West Harptree road are also needed.
The school have to walk down and up to their playing fields and it is dark in winter.
Thank you for reading my my suggestions to make our walk to preschool safer
