There's sharp metal protruding through the damaged speed bump between Avondale and Brookleaze buildings straight outside St Saviours Junior school playground - where many children cross the road.

Reported via desktop in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 17:04, Wed 5 January 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3218483.

The speed bump across the middle of the road between Avondale and Brookleaze buildings has some large damage through which sharp long metal protrudes - presumably part of the structure of the speed bump. This is outside the school playground where many children cross the road. This would be extremely hazardous and dangerous to anyone who might cross this section of the road including children, parents, grandparents etc and also extremely hazardous to cars - as the metal could rip through tyres. Not sure how long it has been there as I don't often walk down the middle of the road - however had occasion to do so this week.

  • Hi there, I live right opposite this speed bump. The person who reported this issue on 5 January is absolutely right. However, this problem with the damaged speed bump is also causing us and my neighbours a major noise nuisance which is preventing my children from sleeping properly. Every time a car goes over this metal plate it makes an extremely loud clunk. A lot of traffic comes down this road, day and night, and the noise is completely doing my head in and causing a major disturbance to the sleep of all my family. Please can this be fixed as a matter of urgency. Thank you.
