VAS (Visually Activated Sign) on A4 only partially working

Reported via desktop in the Road sign damage category anonymously at 15:49, Tuesday 18 January 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3250024.

VAS (Visually Activated Sign) only partially working. Very faint lighting up of '30 SLOW DOWN' sign when activated. Not clearly visible to motorists. This VAS sign is required as a safety measure to prevent vehicles speeding into the village from the 50mph section of road. Possibly its sensors require cleaning, or other maintenance is required. VAS is located on the approach to Saltford from the direction of Bath, on the left hand side of the road, just before the 'SALTFORD' village sign.
