Horses being kept of public land

Reported via mobile in the Park safety issue category anonymously at 08:08, Friday 28 January 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3272460.

In the area indicated at least two horses are being kept. I believe it to be public land, so this should not be allowed. This issues this are causing are: Sections of the grass destroyed and covered in horse poo. Ruining the nice field. Dog owners cannot walk well behaved dogs off lead in this area anymore for fear of frightening the horses

  • The horses are grazing on public land and moved around, leaving several circles of mud.

  • We have looked into this issue and found that it doesn't meet our criteria for intervention as the land is not public open space although there is a public right of way on part of the site. The land is actually agricultural land and leased to a local farmer.
