The problem exists from the first river bridge on the cycle track all the way to Saltford.all the way out to Saltford.

Reported via desktop in the Excessive or dangerous littering category anonymously at 09:31, Monday 14 February 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 4 hours, 37 minutes later. Council ref: 3309513.

Leaf clearing has not been carried out properly in the past by clearing up to the edge of the tarmac surface. This has left a volume of leaves 12" - 24" onto the cycle track which are slowly rotting down. This will allow grass and weeds to grow over time creating a new verge and substantially reducing the width of the track. The photo number 133338 was taken in Kelston Woods and shows that no clearing has taken place. The track is used by walkers and cyclists and is becoming dangerous as walkers are avoiding the uncleared verges and encroaching into the path of cyclists. It is fairly clear where the tarmac ends at the moment as there is a definite line where the grass and weeds stop. There is a definite difference between the first 200 yards to the bridge and the stretch from there on.

  • Two and a half months later and nothing has been done. The verges of the track are being "re-wilded" a polite term for not cutting back the nettles and cow parsley which in a couple of months time will be all over the track.
