Dangerous unmanaged trees
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3322470.
The huge pine trees that are in the ground to the side of our property have been left to grow unchecked. Most are half covered in ivy and are at a height that sees them move a lot in light winds, let alone the increasing storms. The trees are mainly shallow rooting pines and as they are growing in the loose soil of the disused slag heap it is possible they could fall.
One tree fell a few years ago blocking the only route in and out of the lower rank of houses, luckily that time I fell in gardens without causing serious damage or injury. Something must be done before more serious damage occurs or worse, someone gets hurt/killed.

Nothing has been done and it is now over 18months later. The growth over the wire is a lot worse as you can see from the attached. Please can you confirm what we are supposed to do about this. If a tree falls and damages our property who will be responsible for repairs. We have approximate insurance, but prevention is better than cure. The time frames on receiving a reply on this topic are obscene.

The trees are growing on private land and the landowners responsibility, not the council's. The land is registered so the landowner can be found through the land registry's website so you can follow up your concerns directly with the landowner. The council will look into action that it may be able to take in relation to the adjacent path but has limited authority to act if the trees are not an imminent danger to users of Whitelands Hill.

Site has been inspected by Council's Tree Inspector who did not identify any as being an imminent danger to users of the public path. This report is now closed.
