Blocked/Possibly Damaged Drain - Weekesley Lane, Timsbury (BA2 0NH)

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 15:14, Thu 17 March 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3396212.

Blocked/possibly damaged drain by the lower entrance to Meadgate Farmhouse, Weekesley Lane, Timsbury.

Water is running out of the bottom of the garden wall/gateway, suggesting that there is a fracture/blockage in the drainage system. If not repaired, we are concerned that the water will undermine the foundations of the property.

  • Whilst undertaking work at Meadgate Farmhouse an independent contractor has advised that the drainpipe is either blocked or damaged. Water does not flow between the upper and lower drains.

  • Whilst investigating a reported pothole in Weekesley Lane Council Staff kindly arranged the urgent replacement of an unsuitable/damaged drain cover on the pathway outside Meadgate Farmhouse. By use of a camera, they also established that the drain was either damaged or blocked by silt and required further investigation. No further action has been taken. The new drain cover is now being lifted by the force of water unable to pass through the damaged and/or silted pipes. The raised cover presents a trip hazard to pedestrians. Since first reported in March 2022 two investigations have established that the drainpipes are either damaged or blocked by silt but no action has been taken.
