SITA bin obstructing pavement - Bloomfield Rd
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction on road or pavement category anonymously at 12:41, Wednesday 30 March 2022
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3426462.
I wonder if you can clarify the rules around leaving SITA bins on the pavement. This item seems to have taken up permanent residence next to the bench outside Bloomfield Crescent. I would have some sympathy if they had nowhere else to leave it but this crescent has a large parking area at the rear. I suspect that someone is now doing an Air BNB and rightly have bought a commercial service rather than using the council service. BANES have strict rules about not putting your rubbish collections out before 8pm the night before collection and also not leaving you bins on the pavement so I would be surprised that SITA are allowed to. As you can see what with the vehicle parked on the pavement (probably also a resident of the crescent ) and the bin it narrows the foot way. I should imagine that during the summer this will also become very smelly. I would expect this in the centre of Bath possibly but not in a residential area. I would appreciate your view on this.
