Faded / worn out double yellow lines under railway path bridge

Reported via desktop in the Faded road markings category anonymously at 10:29, Tue 17 May 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3531143.

Please repaint sections of worn out DYLs. Vehicles park here constantly blocking visibility from the cycle path. This section of highway is a known accident hot spot (with signage and road markings installed this year to help) so preventing parking at this location is a clear safety matter. The Shallows and Mead Lane are subject to very high volumes of traffic particularly in the warmer months. Vehicles are parking on areas where the double yellow lines have faded or worn out (as installed May 2021). Please can these be re-painted (with the roads prepared as appropriate in advance so that they do not fade / wear out quickly again). Parking in unauthorised areas is a safety issue. Good access is required especially for emergency vehicles due to the proximity of the river where many accidents and deaths have occurred, and to avoid previous scenes of gridlock. A&S police have stated that if less of their time is spent on addressing parking issues they can then focus on other areas of concern raised at this location. This area has been reported along with seven other areas of worn out DYLs on The Shallows and Mead Lane.
