Dogs in play park constantly

Reported via mobile in the Park safety issue category anonymously at 13:13, Sun 12 June 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3589520.

There is an old sign on a fence behind to the left of you that says no dogs in the childrens play park. You have to look really hard to find it, it’s overgrown and no where near the entrance to the park. There are constantly dogs in the childrens play area. Im pretty sure the locals who do it know that dogs aren’t allowed in there but there’s no deterrent. It’s a health risk to children with dogs fouling and puts me off taking my children there. Surely more signage and more consequences should be in place to stop people taking their dogs in there. There is a field next to it with football goals in and even though I think they shouldn’t be allowed in there due to children tackling, sliding and rolling around on the ground (so again another health risk) that is better than taking them to where infants and small children play. The park and village is surrounded by fields so not sure why they have to be in there at all. The people taking them in there don’t even have children with them in the park, it’s older people without kids that are doing it. Such a shame as it’s such a nice area for children but really off putting going there to find dog mess and people disrespecting the area.
