Centre of Grosvenor Patk

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation blocking road or sign visibility - In a residential area category anonymously at 12:28, Thursday 16 June 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3601229.

The grass verges in Grosvenor Bridge Road and Ringswell Gardens have finally been cut but once again we have a field in the middle of a residential district. This happens every year and one of us has to nag you to mow it. Even then you do it grudgingly and not as part of the wider area. We pay our council tax like everyone else and you flagrantly disregard our area as though it is a private close which it isn’t. Occasionally you do the edge but the area is a disgrace. Please do something about it and as it is now well nigh impossible to mow it will have to be scythed AND THE CUTTINGS REMOVED.

Updates

  • We have a similar problem where we live because of the council’s new(ish) reduced cutting policy to help biodiversity (which should be applauded but can also be a nightmare for hay fever sufferers to endure). If you go to the grass cutting page on the council’s website: https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/ grass-maintenance , and then click on the link to the map you can see that, like us, you are scheduled for just 3 cuts a year. This translates to one in early Spring to neaten up the Winter growth, one in July I think, and then one in Autumn to leave it tidy(ish) over Winter (and just when all the wildlife relying on the cover really needs it). Any chance of using the space for socialising, picnics, etc, is therefore reduced to just a couple of weeks after each mowing. Maybe broach the subject with your councillor, maybe they can help?
