Ambury, left lane, before traffic lights, around the corner from Actual Experience PLC

Reported via mobile in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 18:58, Saturday 2 July 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3642525.

I was riding a VOI scooter along the road and due to the colour of the non slip road surface I couldn’t see the large dip in the road. As you can see in the pictures it’s about a foot long and surprisingly deep. It acted almost like a little ramp as I went over it. It catapulted my front tire up and caused me to lose balance. I was travelling at the top speed of 15mph the scooters can do at the time and I almost went face first into the ground. I barely managed to stay on my feet but I really jarred my knee in the process. I’m worried someone could get seriously hurt if this isn’t addressed sooner rather than later. I was lucky to get away with the minor injury I did and the next person might not be so lucky. I must stress that this isn’t the fault of VOI or the scooters in general. I’ve been riding them for over a year now and they have been a lifeline that has allowed me to get around the city and I couldn’t imagine being without them. I don’t want this testimony to be used to further the cause of people wanting them off the streets and away from our city.
