Completely ineffective no entry signs on one way road - Avondale Road

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation blocking road or sign visibility - In a residential area category anonymously at 16:56, Tuesday 12 July 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3671310.

Cars drive at speed the wrong way up our road (Avondale Road) on a daily basis. This is clearly a safety issue and happens because there is no 'No right turn sign' on Locksbrook Road as cars approach the junction with Avondale Road and the 'No entry' signs are not visible at all as you approach the junction and the nearest sign is completely obscured by vegetation. The one on the far side of the junction is only visible when cars are at the junction and by then is too high for drivers to see. Cars drive at speed up the road and only realise it is one way when they reach the very top of the road. We moved into the road in April but have been advised by neighbours that this is a long term issue

  • This continues to happen on a frequent basis. You don’t seem to appreciate the safety issue. At least 2 cars have driven the wrong way up the road in the last hour alone! Please can you update me about what you intend to do about amending the signage. Thanks
