Confusing road markings

Reported via Android in the Faded road markings category anonymously at 18:16, Sunday 21 August 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3770559.

The new road markings without the removal of the old road markings make it difficult for road users to work out which side of road is theirs.

  • Both old and new markings are now so worn it is even more difficult to differentiate, twice last week I saw cars on course for head on collisions.

  • The road markings have failed and are creating dangerous situations with oncoming traffic confused about the correct lanes to use - made worse with the coach parking bays.

This has been a problem for years now and needs looking at. It’s like the lines weren’t finished when the new coach bays were created.

  • This has NOT been sorted and is Urgent and liable to cause an accident. The council has been remiss in not tending to this. The original repair prior to this complaint was done insufficiently by black paint over the old lines. The paint should have been burnt off. The method was irresponsible and the current situation was reported since August '22 which could cause loss of life and leave the council liable if an accident occurs
