Flooding at the culvert is causing flooding along Broadmoor Lane
Reported via desktop in the Flooding of a road or pavement category by Matthias Rich at 15:08, Thu 8 September 2022
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3812338.
Whenever there is heavy rainfall, there appears to be issues with the effectiveness of the culvert at the marked location to deal with the volume of water flowing to it. Consequently, Broadmoor Lane, turns into a temporary river. The pedestrian access path to Westbrook buildings was impassable as the Broadmoor Lane river had overflowed onto the path connecting the cottages. This path had become a stream running outside the doors of all properties. Now that the heavy rain has briefly ended, it would appear that the roadside adjacent to the culvert is flooded. This issue has been dogging Broadmoor lane for years but It doesn't seem that anything meaningful has come from the council to address the issue. As we can expect more extreme weather for the foreseeable future, I think Broadmoor Lane residents and Westbrook Buildings residents, would be very keen to see some meaningful action from the council.
