Pavement from end of woodland path all the way down to Trajectus way
Reported via mobile in the Obstruction on road or pavement category anonymously at 23:46, Thu 8 September 2022
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3813126.
Pavement has been unofficially closed by Taylor Wimpey using pallets. Fencing recently added to improve safety, but pavement should not be closed, especially not 24/7. The next opportunity to cross is on a blind corner. Very difficult and dangerous when you have small children and prams!! This has been in place for several weeks and no advance notice was given. No signage to say how long this is in play for. Pavement blockage remains at weekends and out of working hours too. No signs on road or pavements to warn of construction traffic entering Somerdale road. No active supervision of roadworks. No crossing support given at the corner. No signage to warn of pedestrians crossing at the corner. Very clear lack of risk assessment and regard for public safety.

Seems the council couldn’t give two hoots. Few pedestrian near misses, one car accident… Yes there’s the occasional “heavy plant” sign, but it’s nowhere near the corner. The blockage isn’t removed over night or over the weekend. I guess we wait for a real incident and have an accident investigation team highlight the failings here and show “what could have been done”

Another 4 weeks, still no action taken. Since had mud/clay spread all over the road and pavements. More near misses too
