Overgrown trees on Linear Park adjacent No. 49

Reported via desktop in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 18:58, Sat 1 October 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3861553.

Trees have been allowed to grow unmanaged, with self-seeded field maple, dogwood and cherry for many years. The extent of seasonal movement in the adjacent property due to the trees taking water from the clayey soil is now intolerable with new crack appearing and getting wider than any previous years. Despite requesting a visit to discuss the issue, instead only overhanging branches have been cut back. I believe the largest trees need to be felled, the wild rose removed, the hawthorn could be cut down to say 1.5m (evidence that it recovers adequately after this), a multitude of Field Maple saplings which have sprung up this year removed before they take hold, and a wayward cherry cut down too. We are also concerned about the vegetation at the end of the road (cul-de-sac) which has been allowed to grow up and forms a screen for drug dealing and urinating!
