Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3907208.
This is the continuation/ conclusion of the above report.
A further point to consider is the proximity of the two schools, plus how busy the crossroad with Hamilton Road and Charlcombe Lane is at school drop off and collection times. It might be more coherent if a 20 mph zone included the pedestrian refuge by the Royal High (so painted speed limits by lamp post 40 rather than 50)?
As several miles of Lansdown Road from the cemetery at BA1 9BH to its junction with George Street (BA1 2EH) has a limit of 30 mph, it would enhance compliance with a varied limit over a short portion of it, if the signage was made clear.
Clearer signage might also prevent frayed tempers towards those adhering to the altered limit. (Can but hope.)
Many thanks for your consideration of this issue.

The 20 mph limit is only part-time so it can't be painted on the road. As for having two signs close together, experience suggests it can take years for the Council to remove redundant road signs!
