Blocked drain causing flooding

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 1 hour, 55 minutes later. Council ref: 3985899.

Hello I reported this in Monday on the phone. In the heavy downpour that day the drain cutting across 6 Claude Terrace front garden blocked and water poured out of manhole cover and down onto houses. We had to block doorways etc to stop flooding in 5 and 6 Claude Terrace. The flows went down very slowly over the day. We are very worried with continued rain it will happen again. You said you would send someone to check for blockages etc as a matter of urgency but we haven't had any contact yet - could you send someone soon?

  • Hello we are still very worried about the potential flooding from this drain if there is more rain. We have looked closely and it looks like a manhole cover in the middle of the garden of 6 Claude Terrace was lifted by the water as the drain going under the garden was blocked earlier this week. To be clear the problem was not with the the rainwater drain on the road, but actually from your drain in our garden - do call at 6 Claude Terrace to discuss if helpful.
