Footpath, pavement and road flooding

Reported via desktop in the Flooding of a road or pavement category anonymously at 19:36, Wed 23 November 2022

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3988274.

Last month we raised Fix My Street Report 3911511, in regard to serious road flooding and consequential flooding of our home. Report now indicates this has been resolved, although there are issues still to be fixed. This morning, during moderate rainfall, surface wate was pouring down Belmont Rd towards our house but fortunately the sandbags we placed at the top of our drive prevented water entering. On investigating further, we found surface water flowing down Church Rd and into Belmont Rd. None of the road drains between The Avenue and Belmont Rd are working and a large pool of water had collected in Church Rd adjacent to the footpath leading to the Primary School. We went back up later once the rain had stopped and it is clear this drain is full of silt. So, our conclusion is that B&NES has not cleared the drains in Church Rd for many months, causing massive amounts of water to remain on the road surface and risk danger discomfort to pedestrians and cyclists and potential risk of flooding of certain properties. These drains need clearing, properly and urgently. Please action as a matter of urgency.
