Several street lights in St Mary's Close failed on 28th Nov 2022. This is the same day that Truespeed dug up most of the pavement.
We've looked into this report and are investigating the issue. We will update this report once we have more information.

We suspect these lights are not working due to an underground cable fault. We shall investigate this and carry out repairs and are sorry the lights will be out for a while longer. We shall add further information here when known.

This issue has now become a concern due to the length of time the Close has been without lighting. Can you please explain who would be responsible for any injury caused to a pedestrian hurt by rubbish/recycling put out for collection??

It is our understanding that work is due to take place in the near future in order to restore supply to these lights. We are sorry for the delay and will add further information here when known.

The phrase "near future" is practically meaningless. Please provide a specific target date and some meaningful feedback as to why this has taken more than a month, to date. I am concerned that this is a safety and security risk.

The lights need to be fixed urgently. There are elderly sight impaired residents in St Mary’s Close and the lack of lighting is extremely dangerous.

Please can these street lights be fixed as soon as possible. We have been without illumination on these dark nights for a month now.

St Mary's Close. It's getting more important that the street lighting is fixed due to the bad weather. Excessive rain at the moment means you need to be able to see where you are placing your feet. If it gets slippery - ditto. Also Truspeed made a very poor repair of the trench they dug and this needs to be done again properly otherwise there will be more problems in 18 month's time. Especially if they are making poor repairs all over Bath.

Please address this issue as soon as possible. Young children also use the road after dark when walking back from school. Thank you

We have asked for confirmation of a date of attendance which we anticipate should be towards the end of the month. We shall add further confirmation regarding this when known and are sorry for the delay.
Posted by Bath and North East Somerset Council at 11:05, Fri 6 January 2023
We confirm our fault finding team and engineers are programmed to attend to our cable repairs during the 20th, 21st,and 22nd February. We apologise this has taken some time and trust the lights will be working as normal after attendance on one of those days. We can add further information here as needs be.
