Flooding of A39 and into West Tyning

Reported via desktop in the Flooding of a road or pavement category anonymously at 08:40, Thursday 12 January 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4117326.

The water is flooding down West Tyning. The water is approx 18inches wide and 2-3 inches deep. This is a combination of a blocked drain and a local field not having any drainage. The drainage in the area is not sufficient whenever there's any degree of rain, with historic problems of flooding people's gardens in West Tyning. Residents have had to lift their drain covers to drain water down.

Part of this is a result of a company doing roadworks a couple of years ago, as this is when problems seem to have surfaced most and mucked up drainage. Additionally, vehicles are hitting water on the A39 which impacts and water further surges West Tyning as a result.

The road is currently passable in a vehicle, but you can't leave the road by foot due to the extent of the water. Please could you look into the drainage in this area?
