Hello, How are you? This is a street light on the corner of Circus Mews and Circus Place. It's been like that for a week or two. I think the bulb may need replacing by the look of it. Thanks!

National Grid are unable to easily restore supply using the cables as they currently are. To overcome this issue we are looking to upgrade the equipment and provide an alternative supply to this lighting unit. We are sorry the light will be out for a while longer until this work take place. We shall add further information here when available

This light has been out for three months and the scarcity of light in this section of the street is making the area unnecessarily hazardous. It's a simple issue to fix: simply needs some action by the council. As time wears on, the chance of there being an incident, with the lack of lighting being a contributory factor, becomes more and more likely.

Further to our comments above, as the lantern is located on the wall of offices, permission is being sought from the business to install the new conduit needed to restore supply to the light.
Once permission has been granted, we hope to proceed to install a new feeder pillar, conduit to the lantern and upgrade the lighting equipment itself.
We hope you appreciate this is not straight forward fix and although the light will be out for a while longer, the proposed works are required to upgrade the supply to the light and for ease of future maintenance.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused in the meantime and will proceed with the works as soon as we are able.

I understand that permission is being sought from the business to install the new conduit needed to restore supply to the light.
I'm assuming that this is being done through semaphore or a series of beacons located on the coast of Tierra del Fuego and look forward to an update on progress soon.
In fairness, the company may have chosen to simply ignore the council's communication and bask instead in the warmth offered by last year's profit margin, if not the light from a functioning street lamp.

Everyone understands that these things take time and this light has only had a problem since the beginning of the year.
See you in four weeks!

We are waiting for confirmation that National Grid have isolated power to the lantern at source which is within the building. Once this has been confirmed we can proceed to carry our maintenance of the light, which involves refurbishment and reinstallation of the lantern.
