Treacherous ice blocking pavement access
Reported via mobile in the Grit bin issue category anonymously at 16:52, Tue 24 January 2023
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4166866.
I live on Calton Walk and there is no step free access. During the icy weather there has been no gritting in this area so the paths are covered with treacherous ice which really impacts access.

Thank you for your enquiry and we apologies for the delay in responding to you, a very busy time of year. Under normal service operations the Council do not pre-salt the footpaths within its administrative area. During prolonged periods of ice and snow the council does salt some busy footpaths, however these are centred around busy shopping areas and public transport interchanges.
To find you nearest grit bin use the following link and place the grit down before the temperature falls below zero:

For further information, The criteria for gritting and the placement of grit bins can be found under “Winter Service Policy”, on the B&NES website, in the Highways section.
