I have reported the unfit state of this stretch of North Road numerous times over the last decade. Pot holes are now small craters and areas of elongated surface damage are now gulleys that have the potential to kill cyclists. Damage is painted and the paint then worn away by further erosion. The road is long overdue for resurfacing.

I live on North Road and this morning have had to replace two tyres, no doubt, due to pothole damage not only on North Road (just below the Golf Course Road) but in other areas of Bath. Rather than spending money on cycle lanes and LTNs this should be first priority. The large pothole on North Road is dangerous for both cars and cycles.

I have seen some potholes at the junction with Quarry Road have been filled, but these are a drop in the ocean. As a (road tax paying) cyclist, I have to cycle down the wrong side of the road when going down hill to avoid potholes which is very unsafe. How can we encourage children to cycle to school (and parents to let them) when they are in danger of being thrown off by hitting a pot hole, or being hit by a car when swerving to avoid one?

The state of this stretch of North Road (from Quarry Road to KES) is atrocious, making it extremely dangerous for cyclists. People use it as their commute option to the University and kids use it to cycle to Ralph Allen. This is a (serious) accident waiting to happen; pure negligence and the Council should act as soon as possible.

The state of the road surface on North Rd has been a reason for concern for a long time. But now the surface consists almost entirely of pot holes and cracks - extremely dangerous for cyclists. North Road needs fixing ASAP.

This road is in such a bad state of repair that it is now extremely dangerous for cyclists. These issues are compounded by the fact that this is a narrow road, with limited spaces for cars to pass.

As a council who wants people to use alternative modes of transport, you don't seem to want to do very much with the surface of this road which on the way down from the University is just an accident waiting to happen. It is impossible to avoid every pot hole when the surface of the road is one long pot hole. In the summer, it's possible to slow right down and try to avoid them a little but when the long days are over, I anticipate an accident. Who will be responsible then? The council for not doing anything about it.

Now that we have a newly-elected BANES Council with a new Cyling mayor Councillor, please could you look at this road section ASAP. A really serious accident will happen sooner or later if not. The whole road surface between Golf Club Lane and Cleveland Walk needs replacing.

I contacted the council in the spring last year via Joanna Wright and the reply that came back was that North Road was slated for re-surface in the summer of 2022. A year on and the position is worse and it goes without saying that a cyclist will have an accident caused by the failure to maintain this road to a reasonable level. Does the council want to put up 'unsafe for cycling signs' or just fulfil its responsibilty and make the road surface safe. Please fix it.

The road surface of the centre and left of North Road from Golf Course Road down KES continues to disintegrate. There is loose gravel, shallow ruts and potholes that are difficult to see. This section of the road is now effectively unmetalled and extremely dangerous for cyclists.
