Zebra crossing signage

Reported via desktop in the Road sign damage category by Freda M. Trinder at 16:29, Friday 24 February 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4261364.

First of all may we say that it's great the zebra crossing is now in place. However very sadly there are no warning signs for motorists travelling in either direction to indicate the crossing is there. Signs are needed on the approach from Hallatrow up the hill and from The Batch as you leave the village. A 'children crossing' sign should be the very least that is put in place as soon as possible to further safeguard the children as they arrive and leave school. It needs to be done at your earliest convenience please.

  • I second this. There are also no railing on the section of newly extended pavement meaning the children are now next to an A road that doesn’t have a reduced speed limit with a school. The parked cars in the lay by had previously protected the children coming out of school. Railing and signage needs to be installed as a matter of urgency.

  • The parents are also concerned that there are no barriers to protect the children from fast moving traffic ( . A job half done )

  • Chilren's safety I would have hoped would be a priority in Banes. It appears not as this factor has not been addressed. Shameful.
