Grass verges being destroyed by lorries
Reported via desktop in the Park safety issue category anonymously at 14:04, Tue 14 March 2023
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 1 week, 3 days, 2 hours, 39 minutes later. Council ref: 4312289.
Can we please use a grid / frame to reinforce the verges here, the lorries are constantly ripping it up and trailing mud all everywhere. caller has seen this sort of reinforcement in the verges before and think it will work pretty well

Thanks for raising this. It looks as though there is some car parking on verges in Glebe Road, and so it seems that verges with grids would probably be used for additional car parking. Can you clarify if this is the intention or if the aim is to prevent vehicles from driving onto the verge - in which case, bollards or barriers might be more suitable?

Thank you for looking into this. Trees have been planted in some of the verges, including to replace those lost over the years. We will encourage local residents to water and look after them. Could more be planted in those without them, to prevent people parking on them? Or if not bollards as you suggest? There is space in the road. They are being lazy, because they like the convenience of being able to park directly outside their own home. Personally I would be against more stabilisation grids being installed to allow and encourage them being parked on.
