No yellow lines on this side of the road.

Reported via desktop in the Faded road markings category anonymously at 09:01, Wednesday 29 March 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4371114.

Since the new parking restrictions around Chelsea Road were implemented, individuals have understandably had to find new places to park.

Unfortunately, one of these places is around the T-junction between Penn Lea Road and Penn Hill Road on the side of the heading towards St. Mary's School. There are no yellow lines on this side of the road. Cars are parking essentially where "Penn Hill Road" appears in the map above and generally all day.

Given the number cars parked there this lunchtime, turning right from Penn Lea Road into Penn Hill Road was hazardous as it is no longer easy to turn. This means that any turning into the road is essentially into incoming / head on traffic heading towards Kelston Road.

Would it be possible for someone to review this please and make an assessment of the situation?

  • What this underlines is we need a strategy for all streets around the RUH. I understand why residents to the east and south of the site have largely opted for RPZs, but that does have consequences elsewhere for any streets without RPZs and within 10 minutes walk of the RUH.
