Long standing and worsening potholes
Reported via desktop in the Potholes & road surface category by Dr Phil Collins at 17:02, Monday 17 April 2023
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4452188.
I reported the various potholes on The Sidelings on 24th March and noted that they’d been marked for repair with white spray. This report was closed by B&NES on 27th March because “the issue doesn’t need immediate attention”. Also that “There are future works identified in this area and we have included this issue to be resolved at the same time.” At least three of these potholes (of which there are many) are so deep that vehicles have to crawl through, as they cannot be avoided on such a narrow lane. Whilst they and a lot of other repairs were marked up a couple of months or more ago the weather has all but washed away any evidence of the sites for repair. Some residents are going out on to the A368 at a more dangerous junction to avoid the worst of these potholes. Please don’t just respond with the fact that they are scheduled to be done sometime. Please see if this work can be done sooner rather than later, because for th residents these do need doing with more urgency. Thank you.

Thank you for filling in the really bad potholes. This make the lane driveable again. However, there are several areas of The Sidelings that were marked out with white paint for repair. Most of these are along the edges and they are spread along most of the length of the lane. None of these have been done and, now, nearly all the white markings have faded or been washed away. Please could the lane be revisited to re-mark out the areas needing repair. Thank you
