VAS not working

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Signals Fault category anonymously at 14:28, Friday 19 May 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 3 days, 19 hours, 24 minutes later. Council ref: 4574176.

Despite a reply from you on 2nd May saying this had been dealt with the VAS sign is still not working. An automated email detailing the inspection of other VAS isn't helpful in relation to the fact that this sign is for the safety of the children who cross the road to enter and leave the school at this point. Please can the sign be repaired as this is the only indication to motorists if they exceed the speed limit which they invariably do. Thank you.

  • Despite being reported this VAS has not been working for weeks now. This endangers the school children as speeding traffic at this point in the village is a blight. Do BANES actually value the safety of the children and inhabitants of this village? It seems not as this sign hardly ever works.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • I had an email from an officer at the council saying that 'limited funds were available' and this VAS would be looked at. Nothing has happened and the VAS is not fixed putting all pedestrians at risk on a daily basis..
