Trees need watering
Reported via mobile in the Trees and woodland category by Alexandra Rowson at 15:05, Sun 11 June 2023
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4657420.
I was so pleased to see the planting of these saplings on the green space adjoining Charlton house earlier in the year.
The trees are now in danger of dying due to a lack of follow up care and are in need of urgent attention due to this prolonged period of dry weather. I find that organisations often talk about how many trees they have planted but no one reports on how many of these newly planted trees due due to lack of aftercare.
I wonder whether a long term solution to this could be an encouragement of local groups like Keynsham in Bloom or a call out for a 'Friends of...' group to maintain these trees.

Thank you for your report. We have raised this with the tree planting and establishment maintenance contractor, Glendale Countryside Ltd. We would welcome supplementary watering from the community during the hot and dry weather, used dish water is a good option. We will continue to monitor the condition of trees throughout the summer.
