Braysdown Lane, Peasedown St John

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction on road or pavement category anonymously at 09:26, Tue 13 June 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4665083.

We still have an ongoing issue with a white van parked on a designated pavement area and he has now been joined by a red car. We understand that the white van has been reported before and fined but is still parking illegally and causing visabilty and obstruction issues to us that have to exit a lane right opposite to get onto the road. We also have a major problem with overhanging vegetation on the other side of our exit lane which also causes both visibility and obstruction issues as well. Both of these problems have a potential to cause a very nasty accident as Braysdown Lane is used by some unsavvy road users who go too fast.In short this is a very dangerous issue that needs some swift action.

  • This white van is still being parked in an obstructive way to us on the other side of the road and also to pedestrians. It now appears to be parked not only on the pavement but also encroaching a bit onto the road. It is also now going to be parked here constantly for the next 4/5 days at least because the owner has gone to Glastonbury with his family members.

  • Just gone to the shops and Yes this van has returned again, its parked to the end but fully over the double yellow lines and the pavement. As before this is causing a problem with forcing you to walk into the road to get past this van. Its obvious the owner does not care less about this at all. Can something be done about this ASAP, there are other parking places around up and down the road.

  • Currently the van is parking up the road until there are no spaces then it returns. At the moment we now have a small blue car parked there, its been there sunday and monday so far.

  • The Blue car is back again causing problems that are not getting sorted out !, As you can see its parked fully on the Double Yellow lines and painted pavement due to the width of the road, does anybody care as it seems not, its been there Monday, all night and Today at 12.50. These vehicle either need getting a ticket or even better removed !.

  • As previously reported to you many times and as you can see from the photo and post that you have just received, we still have this ongoing problem. At the moment only the blue car is parked there but we also routinely have the red car and the white van parked. It does pose a problem for us having to exit the lane opposite this area and also to witness the constant abuse and ignorance of road rules. This area has double yellow lines as well as a painted pavement both of which should not be parked on.
