Ecweek Rd between Eckweek Gdns and cemetery

Reported via Android in the Vegetation overhanging a road or pavement from private land or property category anonymously at 09:40, Mon 17 July 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 1 week, 3 days, 22 hours, 33 minutes later. Council ref: 4793996.

Hedge has been growing out for years and not cut. Now is so overgrown that you cannot get down road without scratching our medium sized car or our little car along the hedge. (Who is liable for the damage to our cars?!!!) See in photos where middle of road is and you can see there is several feet of overgrown hedgerow. I know for a fact that complaints started about this last year if not before, as I know people with larger vehicles, caravans, camper vans who have been struggling for longer than just this year. It is long past time for this hedge to be cut right back and for the parish council and banes to stop arguing whose responsibility it is. It just needs to get done.

  • U reported this last year. Some smart guy at BANES said it wasn't a problem. Since then the hedge has collapsed twice onto the road. The hedge belongs to the houses on the new estate. I grew up here. Karen Walker appealed for help from BANES ,but was gaslight. Somebody needs a damn good sacking. Totally incompetent

  • The hedges on this narrow lane are very overgrown from private gardens. Not only does this obscure the vision but also damages vehicles.

  • I'll be attending the Parish Council meeting tonight to make a formal complaint about SCC. I will elevate to the MP if SCC do not take action

  • Apparently the council is going to glance it later this month. This does very little as the height will still block light to homes and solar panels that people have invested thousands of pounds in. Absolutely toothless council. Useless. Why do we pay council taxes?

  • Over 4 months since my report. Have tried asking the contact at the council and the question has been ignored.
