Bus Stop Post

Reported via desktop in the Bus stop or shelter issue category anonymously at 11:22, Wed 2 August 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4850785.

I'm not sure why this was closed as "fixed" as the post if still there.

The bus stop has been removed but part of the post remains. Residents have reported this to us at KTC, as not only an eye sore but now that the new bike rack has been installed, the pavement between these two has been been sufficiently narrowed.

  • My accident in Keynsham Temple Street Friday 12th January 2024

I would like to report an accident that occurred in Temple Street Keynsham on Friday 12th January 2024, that resulted in multiple injuries to myself, including a fractured foot, together with cuts and heavy bruising in multiple areas of my body.

At around 11:30am I left the St Peter’s Hospice charity shop after dropping off a donation of books. I crossed the road, moving first across the lane of road traffic, towards the cycle lane.

I did not realize that there was a raised curb between the road and the cycle lane. I tripped at pace a fell forward and slide across the tarmac. I was in state of shock from the heavy fall and was helped up by some passers-by. One lady guided me into a shop which allowed me to recover for 20 minutes.

My wife took me to A&E at Clevedon Hospital where they x-rayed my foot and knee. The foot was fractured in the 5th metatarsal while the knee was suffering from hemarthrosis. I also wounds on right hand, right knee, bruising on my right foot and muscle pain in my left shoulder.

Following on from my accident, family members referred me to ongoing media coverage of this road and the high frequency of similar accidents. It is for that reason that that I am reporting my accident.

Given the high number of accidents already reported via Cllr. Alan Hale, it seems that the council has been negligent in not effectively addressing this well-known danger. If the council had addressed this design, which is clearly not fit for purpose, I would surely not have sustained my injuries. I will be sharing my report with legal counsel.

    Sincerely, Andrew Till
