Top pathway between Tom Hutton play park and Five Arches railway bridge completely overgrown!

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown vegetation in Council parks and green spaces category anonymously at 16:20, Mon 14 August 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4890884.

I reported this problem recently on Fix My Street and received an email at the end of last week telling me the work had been completed but on checking, no work at all has been done! The path is completely overgrown and almost impassable in places with vegetation meeting in the middle and overhanging branches very low. The various steps are dangerous due to being covered in debris, broken handrails and branches growing over the handrails. In addition branches regularly break off in the wind and rain and block the pathway - my husband cleared one branch which was blocking the pathway and others have been cleared by other members of the public. Someone else has recently reported a branch which has partially broken away from the tree and was completely blocking the pathway and expressed concerns that someone might get hurt trying to move it. It has been pushed to one side by someone but is still hanging from the tree and could fall at any time. The pathway has had no maintenance at all for several years - a small amount of work was done on the bottom path but nothing on the top. In addition, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to exit the car park by the play park due to the overgrown hedges facing the road. I would also mention that I overheard people talking about the state of the pathway when I was in Tesco the other day.
