Overgrown weeds on public footpath

Reported via mobile in the Removal of Weeds category anonymously at 12:23, Tue 15 August 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4893798.

There is overgrown weeds on the public footpath between Mells Close and Nunney Close which causes issues for dog walkers, those walking with young children and those on bikes/scooters. They are attractive to dogs and young children and likely to be toxic. The weeds are at the rear of a lot of elderly residents properties and they aren’t in a position to remove them. I am raising it on their behalf as well. Visually, it is unattractive and I have never seen it looking so bad. Are council tax is paid to sort these issues and needs to be done. I will be raising this with our local Councillors. Thank you.

Updates

  • This is a report on the same public footpath behind the bungalows in Nunney Close. There is g clumps of cut grass which has been trod onto footpath from manor Road field and has got saturated by the rain we have had & now is very slippery which made me slip this morning and caused me to fall. There is green moss & algae on the footpath which is also very slippery & now has become a health & safety hazard. There is dog faeces at the side of footpath which children use as well as adults. We pay a lot of council tax so as previous report says the footpaths should be in a safe condition for public to walk and this footpath definitely is not safe.
