Birch overhanging 12 Riverside close

Reported via desktop in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 11:55, Mon 4 September 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4956570.

This Birch is too big for that road and it is overhanging the property and coming towards our guttering by about 6 ft. I would like someone to come out and look at it

  • I would like once again to draw attention to the birch tree opposite my property, 11 Riverside Close, Midsomer Norton, and outside 12 Riverside Close. We were hopeful that some pruning of this tree would be carried out as it was severely impacting the property at number 12, namely overhanging branches onto the house, and as it has been in full leaf reducing the light into the house. Currently as the tree is now losing its leaf cover the fallen leaves not only fall into the road but also into the garden and drive at no 12. No 12 is occupied by Mr and Mrs Tony Paget, both in their 80s, and with quite severe health and mobility problems, as a concerned friend and neighbour I feel that the fallen leaves in their drive constitute a major hazard as they access the house via the drive and also access the Dial-a-Ride service which they often use and picks up outside their house. We also have to remove leaf litter from the drain which is situated in their drive. Drains in the road aften become blocked with the same litter. On several occasions it has been necessary to call emergency cover for Mr Paget and the leaf litter might also prove hazardous for personnel attending. Hopfully something may be done to alleviate the problem. Kinds Rgards, Michaael Turner
