Bus stop on the A4 near The Folly damaged

Reported via desktop in the Bus stop or shelter issue category anonymously at 16:36, Mon 4 September 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4958050.

The shelter is completely the wrong way around affording no protection to passengers from the elements, especially as this area is prone to pooling water due to drainage issues. Now even more so, protection from traffic! Perhaps this is a good time to live up to the expectations of the WECA proposals “Nicer places to wait for buses”?

I am sure the excuse for not doing this is road width. In that case widen the footpath to produce a ‘gateway’ which would also address the excess speed in this area.

  • When will this be reviewed? The weather is clearly on the change and passengers are now afforded no protection from the weather or traffic? There should be NO COST involved as no doubt this will be an Insurance claim against the offending driver?

  • I still await a response? With the winter weather now with us a shelter is much needed!
