Road covered in rocks and debris

Reported via mobile in the Dangerous road surface (including ice, mud, spillage or debris) category anonymously at 18:40, Thu 21 September 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5018994.

There are extensive works on the road to the new Greensbrook estate which is a new building development. The road access to The Siding and the main road, its pavements are covered in stones, mud and the building contractors do nothing to clean up. A regular road sweep is required noting bicycles and pedestrians use the road and its reserved pavements. If things not resolved, members of the public are at risk of injury or worse. Please can this be resolved ASAP

  • The building site activities at the entrance to the Sidings is now gone too far. Today my car was covered in concrete from the building site who were using a digger bucket from a cement truck to lift it over 30ft into the shuttering. I have never seen anything like it. No signs, no barriers, no warning and a complete mess. This dangerous and quite frankly inconsiderate works needs stopping. I am now on my drive scrubbing the cement of my car where cement from the activity has just been allowed to spill all over the road. The cement is running down the road and into the drains. Goodness knows what secondary issues with the environment this sort of activity will create. Please, please, please can this be investigated and stopped. I approached the builder to ask if this would be cleaned up and there was zero response.

  • The situation is getting worse. We now have to contend with delivery vehicles blocking access to The Sidings. Twice in the last few days have we been unable to access our road due to the road being blocked. Lorries and site vehicles drive on the pavements and we now have deliveries being left on pavements. Can we please ask that this is stopped.
