I fell off the pavement into the cycle track outside the Post Office and opposite Coffee One on Keynsham High Street. I sustained injuries to my face and am left with cuts and bruises, a sore rib and very painful knee.

Reported via desktop in the Dangerous road surface (including ice, mud, spillage or debris) category anonymously at 11:03, Mon 23 October 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5127122.

I believe the problem to be cause by an optical illusion created by the relationship between the cycle track and the pavement: out of the corner of your eye it looks like a flat surface but it isn't, causing one to lose one's balance. I was very lucky to be helped up and looked after by passersby, who also told me that this is a regular occurrence on the High Street.
