North Road gullies ineffective at managing heavy rain

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 18:59, Wed 1 November 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5163741.

On Saturday 28th, I spent half an hour in 250mm of water unblocking the drains in Cleveland Walk to prevent my property flooding. I have to do this several times a year at this time of year (rain plus leaves plus permanently blocked drains on North Road). It's messy work, I get very wet and hopefully not Tetanus. I have to do this because the only gully that has any chance of coping with a deluge is outside my property. But the real problem is that we're coping with a river of water flowing down North Road and that swerves round into my end of Cleveland Walk. yes there's a gully upstream of me in Cleveland Walk that (after pressure from me) has been unblocked, but neither are designed to cope. Please, please unblock North Road gullies and sweep the leaves in all the streets around her at least weekly to avoid the mush that we slip on and that adds to the blockages.
