An overgrown hedge is blocking a large part of the pavement at the top of Lymore Avenue

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation overhanging a road or pavement from private land or property category anonymously at 09:06, Thu 2 November 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5164952.

This has been an issue since children returned to school on 30/10. It makes it hard to use the pavement and it's not really safe to step onto what is a fairly busy road.

  • Hedge has not been trimmed back 28th Nov

Posted anonymously at 20:43, Tue 28 November 2023

  • The hedge has been trimmed but the issue is still there; they have grown the hedge so it takes over half of the pavement and severely limits the space for pedestrians. The hedge needs to be cut back 2 feet, back to their property boundary

  • The hedge has become a problem yet again & difficult to walk between hedge & parked cars. Also low hanging vegetation hits your head as you walk past.

  • Hedge making the path difficult to use 11/4

Posted anonymously at 23:20, Thursday 11 April 2024

  • One part of this hedge is completely blocking the footpath but to be clear, the ENTIRE hedge has been cut so it takes up no space in the owners garden but instead takes up 59% of the footpath....the whole thing needs to be cut back so the footpath is functional

  • The hedge is still overhanging the path and is a health and safety issue

Posted anonymously at 10:29, Friday 3 May 2024

  • Today I saw pedestrians having to walk out into the road as the hedge was completely blocking their path. This is an accident waiting to happen, especially as the footpath is used by children and parents on their way to/from Oldfield Park Junior School.

  • This problem has now been reported by several people. The enforcement section of the Council needs to put an enforcement notice on the owner as the hedge is forcing people into the street. Pavements are for pedestrians not for unkempt and overgrown hedges.
