Slippery leaves on Sion Hill

Reported via desktop in the Excessive or dangerous littering category anonymously at 12:12, Tue 21 November 2023

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5236930.

I wanted to see if there was to be a planned road clearing for leaves on Sion Hill? At the bottom of the loop in particular the road is now covered with brown sludge and is very slippery.

Similarly the elevated pavement as you walk to Cavendish Road is very slippery. Can this be cleaned?

Updates

  • I would like to report that the number of leaves at the bottom of the loop on Sion Hill, is a health risk. I saw a person slip quite majorly today, and my car often slides. Efforts have been made by residents to pile the leaves up, in order to releive some of this, but the piles have decomposed now, causing a slippery mush. The leaves are blocking the drains and are blowing into driveways. The road has not been swept for many many many months. Traffic wardens are a common site, but not a whisper of a brush. It will take more than a single cursory visit to resolve, what is now, a health hazard.

  • There are still lots of fallen/rotting leave on the bottom loop of Sion Hill making it very dangerous to walk on or even drive cars along this area. I saw a car skid into a parked car caused by this issue. Immediate clearing needs to be undertaken.
