Ice all over the road as a result of flooding from water draining from the railway - The Shallows

Reported via desktop in the Dangerous road surface (including ice, mud, spillage or debris) category anonymously at 13:59, Wed 10 January 2024

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5424599.

Ice all over the road as a result of flooding from water draining from the railway - The Shallows

This is causing sheet ice across the road and is a real danger. There are signs advertising the flooding but this is now iced over. Please could this be looked into? Please could the underlying problem of flooding of the road from the railway lines also be looked into please as this is an ongoing problem every year?

Some of the ice has been melted from vehicles, but this is likely to get worse tonight as it's already frozen in areas. The ice extends for at least 20 metres in length (the water stretches further than this)

  • Nearly four months on, no ice but the water still flows?
