Junction of Nempnett Street and entrance to Street Farm
Reported via desktop in the Manhole & drain cover damage category anonymously at 12:56, Thu 22 February 2024
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5615096.
The drain passing underground at this point is formed by an old gulley with a covering of old random stone slabs. A couple of these slabs have partly disintegrated and partly dropped from the surrounding road level and the .drain below can now clearly be seen. Vehicles of all sorts and sizes including private cars, tractors and oil tankers pass over this drain in order to enter Street Farm and it can only be a matter of time before the whole drain collapses!

I notice that the pin for this report is not exactly at the bottom of the drive to Street Farm where it should be, nor are there any photos. It can be seen that the hole is too large for an adult foot, but perhaps not a child's. A bicycle going up or down the entrance would lose it's wheel down it of course.
